How we started
The initiative of this project to arises from our team being from Educational and Careers
backgrounds and identifying that support out of school hours and even at school is very limited to young people.
Students expressed the lack of support on help with cv, personal statements, general careers-
based information and it also causes unnecessary stress, in some cases, when timelines have to
be met when a applying for further education, employment and apprenticeships etc.
Some students get extra support, this is a very small number. We wanted to provide support
accessible to all young people.
Giving the young people an opportunity to express and be inspired and know that they can aim
higher, raise aspirations with the support provided.
Also, the Careers drop in sessions, will help with the easy transition of post 16 and destinations
transition, which can be a very stressful time for the young individuals. So we realise the
importance of well-being in young people.
Our project adds to existing services and fills a crucial gap in services, so that the young people
are not hanging around aimlessly and in turn attending the sessions will be able to still socialise
and develop valuable life skills from our services.
We have links with local companies and aim to help to provide opportunities for all the young
people.
